About Pachmarhi

Pachmarhi is the most beautiful hill station.

Pachmarhi is the most beautiful hill station in Madhya Pradesh, India. Pachmarhi is a combination of belief, past history and nature. It is also known for the Pachmarhi Cantonment. Pachmarhi, the most peaceful hill station in Central India is situated at a height of 1000 meters in the Satpura Range. I love Pachmarhi as I live at very nearby town Pipariya(around 54 kms.) I have experienced a feeling of Joy and togetherness. Pachmarhi is my favourite holiday spot. Pachmarhi region was the kingdom of the Gond tribe king Bhawut Singh. Prior to annexation to the British Empire, it was the capital of this tribal dynasty. The area was introduced to the western world by Captain James Forsyth of the British Army in 1857. Pachmarhi became a hill station and sanatorium for British troops in the Central Provinces of India. The population in 1901 was 3,020, rising to double that number in the hot summer months. Pachmarhi also served as the summer capital for the Central Provinces. The forest around the town is home to many rare varieties of plants. UNESCO added Pachmarhi park to its list of Biosphere Reserves in May 2009.   The town is not very large, and most of its area is under the administration of the Pachmarhi Cantonment Board, serving the Indian Army. There are several hotels catering to the tourists. Most of them are situated in small congested market areas, but some private, MP tourism and government hotels are situated in civil area of Pachmarhi. The population of Pachmarhi is about 11,500

summer starts at Pachmarhi from the month of may and lasts until July. The place becomes exclusive holiday destination during this season, Because due to its evergreen vegetation, Climate remains favourable. Days remain significantly warmer than the night, the average maximum temperature not exceeding 35*C...

Pachmarhi is an ideal holiday destination even during the winter season. winters at Pachmarhi starts from november and lasts until february. Days remains cold and crisp, feeling very good. The temperature falls to minimum of 4*c during nights. I will recommend heavy woolen clothes, if you are at Pachmarhi during winters.

At Pachmarhi, monsoon starts from 15 June and ends to the month of september. The average rainfall at Pachmarhi is 700 to 800 mm. The waterfalls and landscape gets soaked. Fog hangs in the air and weather remains cloudy most of the times. After monsoon, the place becomes fully refreshed, Green and the place blooms. The place is at its best from Semptember .
